激光熔覆技术的核心是实现熔覆层材料与基体材料冶金结合的同时控形控性。由于激光熔覆过程的复杂性,即熔覆过程的冶金熔炼、热传导、材料的物理化学反应、机械设备和零部件以及对熔覆质量的要求,使得激光熔覆过程的控制实质是高度非线性、强化相形成分布、多变量强耦合、大范围不确定性因素和随机因素的控制问题,这些问题都是激光熔覆过程中主要探索的问题。
